God, I want to kiss her. I want to feel the heat of her lips against mine. Would she want that? Would she melt against me if she did? Or would the tension I feel between us snap and release something feral inside her? Inside me? From the #1 New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author of the genre-breaking international TikTok sensation Butcher & Blackbird and Leather & Lark comes the final book in the Ruinous Love Trilogy―a friends-with-benefits dark romantic comedy packed with murder, mayhem, and spice. Doctor Fionn Kane is running from a broken heart, one he hopes to mend in small-town Nebraska, far away from his almost-fiancé and his derailed surgical career. It’s a simpler life: head down, hard work, and absolutely no romantic relationships. He wants none of the circus he left behind in Boston. But then the real circus finds him. Motorcycle performer Rose Evans has spent a decade on the road with the Silveria Circus, and it suits her just fine, especially when she has the urge to indulge in a little murder when she’s not in the spotlight. But when a kill goes awry and she ends up with a broken leg, Rose finds herself stuck in Nebraska, at the home of the adorably nerdy town doctor. The problem is, not every broken heart can be sewn back together. . . . And the longer you stay in one place, the more likely your ghosts will catch up. "4.5⭐
This was my least favorite book of this trilogy. That being said, I still really enjoyed it! Rose was an absolute riot, and I loved her so much! She was very murdery, but unlike Sloane and Lark, she wasn't particularly good at killing people, which led to much hilarity and drama! Fionn wasn't nearly as unhinged as his brothers, so obviously I didn't love him quite as much, but I did love how gentle and caring he was with Rose. I thought they were a pretty well matched couple, and they felt much more domestic than the previous two couples, which was kind of sweet to see. The plot wasn't as much fun as the previous two books, and it could also be kind of slow paced at times, but the murder and the spice definitely helped make up for the slightly slower pace! I'm not a huge fan of overlapping timelines in book series, but I did love that in this book it meant seeing the three leading ladies of this series become besties! LOVED the epilogue in Rowan’s POV! He and Sloane are the greatest IMO! And I'm definitely hoping for the spinoff that the 2nd epilogue hinted at! Forced/close proximity, roommates, opposites attract, friends with benefits to lovers, slow burn, small town romance, hurt/care, doctor MMC x serial killer FMC, touch her & die, very spicy, and dual POV!!! Overall, this book was very enjoyable, but not quite as amazing as I'd hoped. "
"4.25 ⭐️ These books are so fun. I never would have imagined that I’d be so entertained by a dark romance but here we are. The audiobooks for this trilogy are an absolute must. Give me all the hilarious, sassy, vigilante FMCs and the men that love them. I think Fionn may be my favorite Kane brother with Rowan coming in a close second. Check your TWs and enjoy the ride. "
"This crazy trilogy was funny, scary, sexy, and disturbing the best ways. Although all three have a super slow burn with the romance, it makes up for it in the end. Repeatedly.

I love the Kane brothers and their batshit crazy wives. It’s given me many hours of entertainment and I’m sad that their stories are over. Or are they???? We shall see…

I would like to also mention that if someone reading this is not aware, this book is the third book of a dark romance trilogy and should be read in order.

If you are sensitive to triggers, know that there are several of them. If you aren’t into dark romance, don’t bother reading this or the other two. Giving a bad review of a genre you don’t like is a waste of your time and brings down the rating for the author. It would be like me leaving a one star Yelp rating/review on a caprese salad at a newer restaurant knowing I hate tomatoes and balsamic vinegar.
*steps down from the milk carton
Thank you ✌"
