"The author mentioned you do not have to read the first seires set in a different world before this one, but for the second book, I think you miss out on a lot more. There are too many players and not enough explanation. Everyone talks in riddles, and it's getting old.
There isn't much to talk about with book two. It is a continuation of book one in theory, but in actuality, the characters nor the story progresses. Theon and his friends only got worse in their treatment of Tessa. Yea, sure, they act nice, but then they hold her down when it's time to take her rights away.
These books are 600 pages and piece, and there is no progression. I may love the writing style, but I can only take so much him hauling until I'm over it."
