"I should start by saying I thoroughly enjoyed this. But it was imperfect in a way I can really only let a YA fantasy get away with. If you want a book that will fill the hole The Cruel Prince left in your soul, keep looking. If you want enemies to lovers that felt more like rival siblings until they weren't, or a book that tells you how you should view the characters while they actually act the opposite of how they were described? This is that book. This book tells us everything but doesn't quite know how to show anything. I found all the characters to be packaged stereotypes but I liked when they showed up on the page. Violet has no self-awareness and I loved it. Watching her describe her self as a wolf only to act like a puffed up chicken was incredibly entertaining. I would recommend this book if you are an ACOTAR fan..."
"I liked the book, but I feel conflicted. The plot was great, and I did like the debates, politics, and the fantasy part, too, but I find the heroine to be very hard to sympathize with. It's not just that she's morally grey, it's something else, too, something very unlikable about the way she is described. It makes it hard for me to read the story, and I'm not sure I'm gonna buy the second book. Nevertheless, I did enjoy many plot twists!"
"Great book. "

"I didn’t feel like there was very much character development and you are kind of thrown into this story right off the bat with very little depth in the situation/life of characters. I didn’t find the writing itself to be all that appealing and the romance in it felt quite forced. I was very confused a lot of the time. "
