"You know, P.C. Cast writes better by herself than she does with her daughter Kristin. I'm sorry, I read the House of Night books and because of my completionist ways I actually read them all and was kinda cringing at the end of the series. But with the start of this one I was pleasantly surprised, Mari is a great lead female character. Being how she is, and taking care of everything on her own to start until the 'Moon Woman' Sora comes in to be trained to be the official one....it was kind of win. Nik, also a great character, growing up in the trees thinking that Mari's people are terrible, taking the women from their homes to put them on farms because of the 'blight' which is basically a nasty infection that seeps inside open wounds and kills you from that! I mean....this book was good. I have a couple things I have to read before I start Sun Warrior, but believe me I am reading the rest of the series! You can count on that!"
