"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5
(This review will contain #spoilers)
I immediately knew I’d love this book when we first met the Wallflowers and got to know their different personalities, however, I became engrossed from the minute we get Simon Hunt’s first POV when we see how protective and in love he is with Annabelle. What an absolute treat! His pursue of Annabelle was drool-worthy, and their development was incredibly cute.
I did knock off half a star because Simon did have some red flags, like how he wouldn’t take no for an answer. I didn’t really care for that. I know that it was a different time (when the book was written and when the story “historically” takes place), but sometimes when Annabelle said no to something, I wish Simon backed off. Also him threatening to throttle and strangle her when she saved his life?! Boy. I know why he was upset but sheesh. That could just be my own experience with DV though.
I am absolutely excited to continue the Wallflowers series, and I cannot wait to see the shenanigans Lillian puts Westfliff through!"
"Started off really good, was really excited for this enemies to lovers, class differences trope combination. However, this was just too slow burn for me and by the time they officially got together I was kinda bored. No amount of hot sex between them at their honeymoon was going to change my mind unfortunately. Then in classic Kleypas style, she throws in some last minute dramatic shenanigans that to be quite frank with you I just didn’t understand; foundries and locomotive building to begin with don’t make any sense and then when there are explosions added on top, you’ve just lost me completely. The one good thing about this though was the dynamic between Westcliff and Lillian Bowman, the American heiress, there is some real good animosity and sexual tension between these two that I hope"
"I got this in audio form.. HILARIOUS!!"

"I think this is my least favorite Lisa Kleypas I've read as of yet. There were elements I still enjoyed like the fact that Kleypas is really good at adding in real life trou Les from the time and real life dangers that were prevalent for the working class. This one has a work place fire and feels so real and terrifying.

However the way the love story builds and develops doesn't feel natural and then once they are together everything else feels so rushed through that it feels unnatural. Oh and the main issue of the story kind of feels anticlimactic... There was just a lot of telling not showing in the end and I didn't care for it.

I highly recommend avoiding the audiobook and physically reading it. There was a lot that didn't match up from the audiobook and the physical book which made it hard to go from one form to the other. I spent so much time attempting to find where I was in that it was insane."
