"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Okay, I will admit that I was extremely surprised by how much I adored this book! I relate to Daisy the most as far as personality goes, which is something I didn’t notice until I got to her book. I gave this one 5 stars because the romance is very close to Lillian’s and Westcliff’s, with this one being a hair better.
Matthew is the perfect man in my humble opinion. He’s respectful of Daisy, he’s not arrogant or conceited (unless bowls are in question), and he’s so incredibly sweet and romantic! At first, I thought we were reading an Annabelle and Hunt do-over where the man falls first yadda yadda, but I LOVE how Kleypas made both Daisy and Matthew fall hard for each other together (the pining, ack. So amazing). This book had so many comedic moments with witty banter and tension. The Bowman sisters (I suppose the women formerly known as the Bowman sisters) are by far two of my most favorite characters in any book series ever.
I will say, I was again disappointed by the lack of Wallflowers in this one! I know it’s difficult to always give the four of them page time together, but I feel as if we’ve strayed so far from the friendship that inspired my love for the series. And one other criticism I have is each book follows an almost cookie cutter template of progression, where the conflict comes to a head at around the 80% mark. It makes reading the book a bit predictable. But - I was rooting so hard for Matthew in his conflict, so no points were deducted due to my investment.
With that said, I rank the Wallflowers series in order of most beloved to a bit less beloved as Daisy’s, Lillian’s, Annabelle’s, then Evie’s (suck it Sebastian). This was such an adorable series - I’m not sure if I’ll start the spin-offs soon, but this was an absolutely beautiful ending!"
"Actual: 3.5 stars ✨

This was okay, not great. I think when this was told to me as an “Enemies to Lovers, but really he was in love with her all along”, I was thinking I would have like it more than I did. I think the “Enemies to Lovers” element of the story took too long to happen in the story to my personal preference and the final act conflict was a miss for me. It didn’t feel like too big of a deal and I wasn’t that worried that Matthew wasn’t going to find a way out of it. In conclusion, this was a perfectly serviceable historical romance, just nothing that I’m going to re-read or recommend to anyone.

As a whole, I wouldn’t really recommend any of these books in this series; Kind of mediocre if I’m honest."
