Three sisters, two murders, and too many secrets to count. “A propulsive and intricate psychological thriller. . . Meticulously plotted. . . Family connections prove both their damage and their worth in this community-focused thriller.” ―Kirkus (starred review) Fourteen years ago, the Palmer sisters―Emma, Juliette, and Daphne―left their home in Arden Hills and never returned. But when Emma discovers she’s pregnant and her husband loses his job, she has no option but to return to the house that she and her estranged sisters still own . . . and where their parents were murdered. Emma has never told anyone what she saw the night her parents died, even when she became the prime suspect. But her presence in the house threatens to uncover secrets that have stayed hidden for years, and the sisters are drawn together once again. As they face their memories of the past, rivalries restart, connections are forged, and, for the first time, Emma starts to ask questions about what really happened that night. The more Emma learns, the more riddles emerge. And Emma begins to wonder just what her siblings will do to keep the past buried, and whether she did the right thing staying quiet about what was whispered that night: “No one can know.”

"This was my December BOTM pick. I loved “What Lies in the Woods” by Marshall so I was excited to get my hands on this one. Marshall has a way with relationships in her story telling. As a reader, I love it but I can also see how it might not be everyone’s cup of tea. That being said, the relationships and tangled webs of this story were captivating. I would describe this novel as a very twisty thriller. It read like I was slowly unwinding a tangled mess of red string off of a growing murder board. I really enjoy that kind of thriller but, again, it might not be for everyone. "
"I actually really enjoyed this book! This is a thriller that has multiple viewpoints, an unreliable narrator, nonlinear timeline, and includes marital problems. I felt like this book was a wonderful blend of a twist and turn whodunnit and a psychological thriller. I loved all the characters and it definitely took me for a ride from start to finish. There were twists and turns on every page and you never truly knew who you could trust. I was pointing fingers at everyone. I think that it had a great conclusion, the story didn’t turn too slow and I found myself gaping throughout the story. All of the characters felt believable and a lot took place in such a small book, I felt like it flew by in the best way possible. "
"4.5⭐️. Read in one LONG sitting and without skimming! But by the end it felt a little too long and Scooby Doo like with the number of pivots. I was like let’s end this already.

"No One Can Know by Kate Alice Marshall is a suspenseful and eerie thriller that explores family secrets and the fear of the unknown. The story follows a teenager, Izzy, who becomes entangled in a mystery involving her family's dark past. The atmosphere is chilling, and the plot keeps you intrigued with its twists and turns. However, while the premise is strong, some parts felt a bit slow, and a few character motivations could have been better fleshed out. Overall, it's an enjoyable read for fans of psychological suspense, but not without its flaws. A solid 3.5 stars."
