An interior designer who is never without the perfect plan learns to renovate her love life without one in this new romantic comedy by Ashley Herring Blake, author of Delilah Green Doesn’t Care. For Astrid Parker, failure is unacceptable. Ever since she broke up with her fiancé a year ago, she’s been focused on her career—her friends might say she’s obsessed, but she knows she’s just driven. When Pru Everwood asks her to be the designer for the Everwood Inn’s renovation, which will be featured on a popular HGTV show, Innside America, Astrid is thrilled. Not only will the project distract her from her failed engagement and help her struggling business, but her perpetually displeased mother might finally give her a nod of approval. However, Astrid never planned on Jordan Everwood, Pru’s granddaughter and the lead carpenter for the renovation, who despises every modern design decision Astrid makes. Jordan is determined to preserve the history of her family’s inn, particularly as the rest of her life is in shambles. When that determination turns into some light sabotage to ruffle Astrid’s perfect little feathers, the showrunners ask them to play up the tension. But somewhere along the way, their dislike for each other evolves into something quite different, and Astrid must decide what success truly means. Is she going to pursue the life that she’s expected to lead or the one that she wants?

"Just as sharp and witty as the first installment! I loved seeing the character development and world building. It’s inspiring to see these people coming to terms with who they are and what they want in life. I really enjoyed this pairing’s dynamic and tension, it really brought at lot to the story. Romantic, spicy, and unapologetically sweet, this was an all-around fun read. This definitely does the series Justice. I can’t wait to see what the 3rd book has in store. I’m rooting for you, Iris! ❤️✨"
"I loved the tension between Astrid and Jordan and also really enjoyed the plot of remodeling a house! I find interior design fascinating and having recently worked on remodeling and redesigning a house myself, it’s fun to imagine how others would decorate a space.

The chemistry Astrid and Jordan had was real, I could feel myself rooting for them from the beginning despite finding Jordan to be a bit immature at the start. I didn’t enjoy how antagonistic she was toward Astrid and was constantly poking and prodding at her. I understand Astrid was WAY out of line at the coffee shop, but I too would be furious if a super expensive clothing item was ruined on such a big day.

I wish we had gotten to see Astrid pursuing her dream career and excelling at it, but maybe the next book will have a bit of that!

I’m so excited to read the rest of Herring Blake’s work!

Thank you to Edelweiss for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review."

"The PERFECT representation of a narcissistic household and what it means to be a "golden child". I was raised in a narcissistic household and this is brilliant representation of what my life was like. If you don't know what a "golden child" is, Astrid Parker knocks it out of the park! Amazing romance to go along with it and I related so heavily to this book series. I can't wait for the third book!"

"Hearing stories about people figuring out their sexuality in their late 20s and early 30s is so relatable because It took me 28 years to figure out I was trans so I really feel for Astrid and I loved the moment where she has the epiphany that she wants to kiss Jordan and not just “any girl”. Because it’s so real. One of the best things is when the author mentions Written in the stars and how hot the sex scene was in it! It made me laugh bc queer romance authors referencing each others work is always fun bc it means that they’re aware of the impact they have on queer Folx!"
