"The plot of this novel is extremely good, but the style of writing is too detailed for my taste. The beginning is excruciating slow because of how overly detailed each scene is written. It’s not great when you have to force yourself to read 400 pages of a 650 page move before it becomes interesting. However, with that being said, the female protagonist is wonderfully written and each character is well-developed, which is not an easy feat given the number of characters in the book. The romance subplot is good and I look forward to seeing how that plays out in the next book of the series. Action scenes could be better described, but did the job well enough. "
