A "suspenseful, atmospheric tale. . .punctured by a gut-punch twist" (Entertainment Weekly), A Boy and His Dog at the End of the World is a story of survival, courage and hope amid the ruins of our world. My name's Griz. I've never been to school, I've never had friends, and in my whole life I've not met enough people to play a game of football. My parents told me how crowded the world used to be, before all the people went away. But we were never lonely on our remote island. We had each other, and our dogs. Then the thief came."This unputdownable story has everything -- a well-imagined post-apocalyptic world, great characters, incredible suspense, and, of course, the fierce love of some very good dogs." -- Kirkus (starred review)

"The most frustrating book I've read all year and I enjoyed the heck out of it. 😅 A man steals a boys dog and it just snowballs from there. The boy, writing this book, pretty much tells you everything that will go wrong. So then you are just sitting there, not patently, waiting for it to blow up in your face. Ugh I highly enjoyed this. He also talks to you and asks questions which I found very engaging."
"This is a delightfully wholesome dystopian novel with a few suspenseful elements. Humanity has killed itself off through infertility so the population of the planet is almost gone. Griz's family lives off the coast of Scotland with a distrust of the few people who do remain on the mainland. When a mainlander visits and steals Griz's dog, they take off after her. What happens next is a beautiful unlaying of the world without humans, through the thoughtful eyes of a young adult. I would compare this book to a young adult version of John Wick. I mean, the dog doesn't die and people aren't slaughtered by the second, but the emotion behind a dogs value and the determination to get the dog back is present. The book teaches an important lesson in kindness even when the world of humans is at its end."
"The dog does not die and that alone makes this a 10/10. Is a very heartwarming story about keeping you’re humanity by trusting those around you. I love how the main character keep an innocents about them without being naive. Surprising to see such a positive end to a dystopian book. "
"A beautifully written and unique spin on a dystopian future with great and unexpected moments throughout. "
