But Laura Dean keeps coming back, and as their relationship spirals further out of her control, Freddy has to wonder if it's really Laura Dean that's the problem. "Pros:
-The art style is beautiful

-It has a good message about toxic romance and breakups.

Cons:

-the plot was kinda all over the place. It was mostly the main character being depressed or being a bad friend because of her relationship.

-the characters were kinda bland. You don’t really get to know them. They are just there for whatever purpose they have for the story.

-i feel like the book didn’t do a good job showing why they are together. Even in toxic relationships there is normally something that makes them stay together. Freddy is the name of the main character. She is dating Laura. We don’t really get moments of them being happy together. We don’t get to see why Freddy loves Laura. We just see that they danced together one time, had fun, then they decided to date. Even from that first appearance there were so many red flags. I wish there was more show don’t tell with the relationship part of the story."
"this is a wonderful read, especially given current events. i absolutely recommend it, though you should be aware that a character gets a medical abortion in the book. the topic is handled maturely, and should be discussed more often, but just proceed with caution if that topic is upsetting to you."

"I kinda loved this book but their was some up and downs. I love the caracters, the small town girl type thing but the plot was boring. It was talking about different stuff at once and i was like, can we just focus on the main subject but overall, it was cute."

"
I mainly appreciated the art style and color palette in this. However, I felt the main character should have left Laura much earlier, as the red flags were evident from the start. It was frustrating to watch her ignore these signs. Additionally, I was troubled by how the protagonist seemed to gloss over the serious issue of her friend being practically abused, which led to the abortion in the first place. This aspect felt underdeveloped and deserved more attention."
