When bodies go missing from the cemetery, Lincoln and the Ministry of Curiosities investigate. But not Charlie. As a housemaid at Lichfield Towers, she doesn't get involved in Ministry business. Instead, she conducts investigations of her own. She searches for details about her real mother, and makes inquiries into Lincoln's background. What she learns has the power to destroy the fragile trust they've built, or bring them closer together. As secrets are revealed, and investigations don't go as planned, Charlie finds her necromancy sucking her into a whirlpool filled with betrayal, lies and danger that could jeopardize her friendships and her home.

"Ugh, I knew from the beginning this would be slow but still the romance has me hooked and I'm trying to be patient. I even did something I never do and looked up spoilers because I'm getting so agitated and let's just say that did not help the situation. I have to keep reminding myself that not much time has passed where the book is concerned.
But things are moving forward and the romance is blooming. Charlie doesn't need much character development so it is more about the attitude of Lincoln and boy does he need a lot of work. We get more backstory on him and everything else at a snail's pace. Still, I would prefer the side characters to be filled out some more. They are interesting and lovable and I am already attached.
At the end of this book, I did think about quitting but my friend talked me into giving book 3 a try now I'm in it to win it. Book 10 look out haha. Oh and Miss Harcourt and stick it where the sun don't shine."
