J.R. Ward
J.R. Ward's # 1 New York Times bestselling Black Dagger Brotherhood continues as a royal bloodline is compromised by a grave threat to the throne. Long live the King… After turning his back on the throne for centuries, Wrath, son of Wrath, finally assumed his father’s mantle--with the help of his beloved mate. But the crown sets heavily on his head. As the war with the Lessening Society rages on, and the threat from the Band of Bastards truly hits home, he is forced to make choices that put everything--and everyone--at risk. Beth Randall thought she knew what she was getting into when she mated the last pure blooded vampire on the planet: An easy ride was not it. But when she decides she wants a child, she’s unprepared for Wrath’s response--or the distance it creates between them. The question is, will true love win out... or tortured legacy take over?

"After I rage quit a while back I thought about giving it another shot.

A year before: Once again I can't stress my magnitude of ******-off-ness. When John fell to the ground and no one would tell the QUEEN THE FREAKING QUEEEEEN about her brother I'm just so done. I have looked away far to long while the women in this book get treated like second class citizens even in their own home. I don't know if I'll pick this seires up again. I have my favorites I'll reread those but I just need to step away for a bit and obviously calm down. Tell me if you have finished this and if the two girls atleast have their own fight scenes because I haven't seen Payne out in the field yet. PEACE OUT!

Update: Obviously I finished and no the women have not gotten any fight scenes or even face time. Again not telling the Queen about her own flesh and blood and the afterwards she wanted to apologize to them for what, who knows, I can't fathom why.

I will say even though I read this a year later the author does well reminding you of what happened in the past. So it is pretty easy to fall back into the grove. I do like the continuation of this seires but that it was about the King again was kind of boring and corny."
"Well. Another BDB book done. The thing that starts to drag down this series for me is the number of narrators. I read another review that said there was 11+. It made me go back through my book and count. I may have missed a few but I counted 14. 14! So, I skimmed a lot of this book, which brings the rating to a 3.5. Too many meh moments.

I liked some of the book, other parts were so down right boring that I skipped or skimmed. Xcor, forget about it. I'm tired of this guy and want to vote this vamp off the island. To be honest, I skimmed all the first half except for Sola's part. The second half went much better, so I ended up skimming everything but Wrath (the current king), Beth, Assail and Sola and John Matthew. Everyone else was too boring.

I thought that JR Ward had dropped the ball on the Darius storyline. She finally picks it back up in this book, but like every other book, it only gets to the point where it is intriguing and nothing else happens. Frustrating. That probably means there will be another JM book, but if it goes like the way the more recent BDB books go, he'll have his part cut down to the bare minimum.

For a Wrath book, he didn't feel like the main attraction. Everything felt like a side story. I'm not sure how much of the book was on Beth and Wrath, but it felt like they had maybe half the book, not as much as I was hoping for. I keep saying that the next BDB will be my last. Somehow Ward manages to put just enough to keep me interested, but wary, for the next book."

"The Blackdagger Brotherhood series was a saga I enjoyed immensely. I will miss these Brothers and their loves. They have been a part of my life for the last two months. I look forward to the next book about the Shadows.

Thank you J.R. Ward for your stories. They have made me laugh and cry and just escape from the real world for bit of time every day.

"
"If you like vampires trying to save the human race from evil you will love this series! I have read this entire series plus its spin off series. Absolutely a must read for sci-fi romance and fantasy romance readers."
