For fans of American Royals and Anna K, a girl enters a dating competition to get revenge on her royal-adjacent ex-boyfriend, and ends up falling for another girl on the show. It’s been two years since Maya dumped her cheating ex-boyfriend Jordy, and she still can’t escape him: his sister married the crown prince of a minor European country, and in the lead up to the wedding he captured hearts globally as the eligible younger brother. So, when Maya receives an invitation to be a contestant on Second Chance Romance, a new reality show in which the now-famous Jordy will re-date his ex-girlfriends in an effort to find “the one that got away”—she isn’t interested…that is, until she realizes she can use this opportunity to exact her revenge. If she can make it to the finale, she can reject Jordy and publicly break his heart. As far as Maya’s concerned, it’s payback with interest: just what a guy like Jordy deserves. But when she gets to the set, she’s confronted with the one person she hasn’t accounted for: Skye, the beautiful, charismatic girl Jordy cheated on Maya with. How is she supposed to live with this girl for six weeks? Sharing bunkbeds, for crying out loud? Except, of course, there’s more to Skye than she lets most people see. Skye has her own reasons for being careful with her heart, and might be more willing to take Maya’s side than it initially seems. If they can sustain their reluctant alliance—and keep their unexpected chemistry from interfering—they might just have a chance to take Jordy down.

"This books is so freakin' good! At first, I will admit I wasn't a huge fan, primarily because all the characters are around 18. They really could have been aged up by at least 2 years so its less high-school. The characters don't act like they are in high school though, which is why the age thing just seems weird. Once I ignored that and pretended they were all at least 22, the book was so good. Literally, did-not-put-it-down good. There was not a single dull moment. "

"so the book is a pretty mediocre book like i feel like it could’ve been written so much better. the plotline seems so so amazing and it wouldve been 10 times better if the author refrained from telling the reader every single thing rather showing them more for example instead of saying she loved her smile be a little less basic make the character describe it in detail and take advantage of the two perspectives more to do so. "
"The chemistry between the two main characters was phenomenal "

"A fun, revenge filled LGBTQ+ romance. It’s more meant for entertainment than to actually make a point- Skye and Maya aren’t the best book role models, and Jordy… he just felt like such a red flag person. Glad about what happened to him in the end! Skye and Maya are such strong rivals in the beginning (an all too common issue in enemies to lovers), and the romance was soooo slow burn, but it ended up amazing in the end. And we also got a subtle look into behind the scenes on reality TV. There was also such great comedy and humor. Definitely will check out more by this author, I’m very excited for her upcoming book (The Perfect Guy Doesn’t Exist.) I highly recommend this book for people looking for a fun queer romance, especially if they like drama filled rivals-to-lovers stories. "
"This book is so cute. It’s sort a reverse Bachelor, where the guy is redating his ex girlfriends to find “the one that got away”. Except the guy is a douchebag. And two of the girls were dating him at the same time two years ago, unbeknownst to either of them. And now they have to share a bedroom. With one of them in denial, and the other one blaming it on the wrong person, they clearly get off to the wrong start, but begin to reconnect, and mayyybe start to fall for each other. As well as make a plan to get back at ex bf. This book was funny, cute, and charming, and included female contestants from a wide range of backgrounds, reasons for being their, and histories with the bachelor. Although it could be aggravating with all much miscommunication, the ending is worth it, especially for everyone who lives to see a deservingly horrible man get out in his place."
