When he opens up a shop of his own, Penhallow’s, just across the street from Something Wicked, he quickly learns he’s gotten more than he bargained for in going up against Gwyn. When their professional competition leads to a very personal—and very hot—kiss, both Wells and Gwyn are determined to stay away from each other, convinced the kiss was just a magical fluke. "Very cute book. I recommend reading the first book tho (the exaggerated hex) because I didn't but there were a lot of references to characters and things that played out in the first book I assume so sometimes felt like I was missing something. Otherwise I quite liked it will probably read more of Erin Sterling"
"this was a cute lil spooky read! it was sort of an enemies to lovers, witchy vibe which we loved haha! there was a bit of spice which is always a plus for me and I really enjoyed the ***** the mv had. I feel like the story was a bit surface level but that’s ok! (side note - I really wish she had told wells about the purple hair! iykyk) haha all in all - a nice lil fall read :))"

"This was fine I suppose but unfortunately was one of those books that sounded better than it actually was.
This story follows Gwyn and Wells who become rival shop owners when Wells opens his shop right across Gwyns.
I guess this was fine but the only thing I kind of liked was the magical atmosphere. Aside from that it was difficult to find much to like.
While I enjoyed the banter between the two characters that’s not enough to build a romance. We went from their banter to some in denial make out pretty fast. It lacked any emotional depth to get us to care for these characters and want them together. It solely relied on the banter to get us there.
The characters do not develop at all throughout this book. I can’t think of what makes Gwyn and Wells any different by the end of the book than they were at the beginning aside from the fact they like each other now. They don’t grow as characters throughout the story and don’t seem to have any internal conflict whatsoever. There wasn’t any reason we should care about these characters.
The ending was anti-climactic. There was a lead up that made you expect something big that ended underwhelming. It wasn’t as big as I was expecting and the characters left it unchanged.
This could’ve been better. It was short so it didn’t take me long to get through but it left me feeling like there could’ve been more done to make this better."
