"Shocktober 2024:
This movie has a lot of scares delivered very quickly and feeds you very little information about itself, which does help it remain scary but also hurts my ability to muster up the emotional investment to make the scares stick.
I thought at first this was like a Memento style shot in reverse thing but then a scene that is definitely chronologically later happens so this whole movie is tough to really piece together but not imposible. It IS definitely iconic though and it holds up pretty well in a lot of ways, I could definitely see this scaring the hell out of someone if nothing else."
"It's perfect for horror fans alike!! Though only available in Japanese, it provides an extra creepiness than the American by going more in depth to the original myth it was based on. Though low-budget it can still provide a good scare, and the creator had worked on other amazing works of Japanese horror."
