A Woman's Face

"Starring Joan Crawford, Conrad Veidt, and Melvyn Douglas, once again, Joan delivers a layered performance of a scarred criminal who blackmails people for a living. Most of this film is shot in a courtroom, with flashbacks, in between testimony from all of the main characters. When she is given a real chance to start her life over again and mend her ways, will she fall back into old habits, or begin anew? I loved the suspense in the last act. It kept me guessing until the final scene and dialogue. "
