"FANTASTIC SERIES! 🙌🏽 — Full of continuous #action & #drama
Here is a list of ALL the TV miniseries WITHIN the entire COLLECTION of the ‘LONESOME DOVE’ stories based upon (**or inspired by) the novels written by Larry McMurtry — #LonesomeDoveMovies
1. Lonesome Dove — set in mid-to-late 1870s
2. Return to Lonesome Dove — set a year after the events of Lonesome Dove. (**This story was actually written by John Wilder — Larry McMurtry was NOT involved in the production of this & he was not happy when CBS implied that he was a collaborator).
3. Streets of Laredo — set in the early 1890s
4. Dead Man's Walk — a prequel to LONESOME DOVE set in the early 1840s
5. Comanche Moon — a prequel to LONESOME DOVE set in the 1850–60s"
"This miniseries so phenomenal and has remained in my top 10 of shows my whole life. It does such a fantastic job of intermixing the brutality of the West with it's beauty and freedom. The acting is absolutely amazing, especially by Robert Duvall and Tommy Lee Jones, and the characters are so well-written, flawed in their own ways but impressive in others and ultimately so human. I still cry at certain scenes no matter how many times I see it because you can't help but care for all of them"
