"The Widow follows three points of view -the widow, the journalist, the detective- after the death of an accused child murderer. Readers will find the idea of a woman who stands beside her possibly murderous husband interesting, though the investigative aspects leave much to be desired. The police have little to no leads and fail to convict their only real suspect – Glen Taylor, a man proclivity towards child ***********. Those who enjoy the suspense of not being entirely certain of what the main character knows or what she doesn’t know will enjoy this one. <br/><br/>I kind of hated this book. This is probably because I really enjoy likeably characters and these characters were far from likeable. I found Jean, our main character, just as creepy as Glen and the draconian cleanliness that they both had drove me a little nuts. I love an unreliable narrator but it didn’t draw me in the way that other stories with this aspect have done. I would recommend this one to readers who enjoy flawed, unlikable characters, cold cases and multiple points of view. <br/>"
"Despite the log line, this is not at all like Gone Girl or Girl on the Train, which in my opinion is a good thing. It isn’t really a thriller or a suspense - it deals with some difficult issues like child ****. This book was so creepy. Everything about Glen just was so disturbing, but yet I could not put it down."
"Not going to lie, this book was hard to get through. I enjoyed the way the author wrote it, I just couldn't get behind the story as much"
