"Bradley Cooper once again proves he’s more than the stereotypical actor he usually portrays. Really liked this remake though I haven’t seen the original 1947 film maybe one day I’ll test my movie buff patience lol. Always love a good crime thriller mystery. Also being a period piece this was a good watch for me. All I gotta say is what goes around comes around."

"The last 5 minutes made up for almost the entire movie. Bradley Cooper is not a talented actor but the final scene was spectacular. Decent movie if it can hold your attention long enough to finish it. Bad acting from *almost* everybody except Willem Dafoe and the geek. Really wanted to like it. Watchable, wouldn't watch it again."
"This was an #eerie movie, with stylistic elements that created a slightly-off feel, where you never quite feel comfortable. The setting was an exceptional backdrop for #drama , #thriller, and even some elements of #horror . The feeling of #suspense is perfect, and I felt so conflicted by the ending. Definitely for #adult audiences, though. "
"I am currently watching this movie for the second time. Those familiar with Del Torro’s work are accustomed to the dark themes and enchanted visual storytelling. A remake of an older noir film, this movie takes the audience to the harsh living of the 1940’s underworld where drifters abound. A compelling psychological thriller combined with a haunting visual atmosphere does not disappoint. I am confident this film will be a contender come awards season and will hopefully gain the larger audience."
