What if Wonderland was in peril and Alice was very, very late? Alice is different than other eighteen-year-old ladies in Kexford, which is perfectly fine with her. She'd rather spend golden afternoons with her trusty camera or in her aunt Vivian's lively salon, ignoring her sister's wishes that she stop all that "nonsense" and become a "respectable" member of society. Alice is happy to meander to Miss. Yao's teashop or to visit the children playing in the Square. She's also interested in learning more about the young lawyer she met there, but just because she's curious, of course, not because he was sweet and charming. But when Alice develops photographs she has recently taken about town, familiar faces of old suddenly appear in the place of her actual subjects-the Queen of Hearts, the Mad Hatter, the Caterpillar. There's something eerily off about them, even for Wonderland creatures. And as Alice develops a self-portrait, she finds the most disturbing image of all-a badly-injured dark-haired girl asking for Alice's help. Mary Ann. Returning to the place of nonsense from her childhood, Alice finds herself on a mission to stop the Queen of Hearts' tyrannical rule and to find her place in both worlds. But will she able to do so . . . before the End of Time?

"I'm a huge Alice in Wonderland fan...im a huge fan of these twisted tale books by this author..however, I was not a huge fan of this story. It was good...it was not great though. It was slow and dragged a bit. Didn't catch my attention and interest as much as the other twisted tales. Not one i would recommend honestly. Kinda boring"
"This is the 10th book written in the Twisted Tale series in which I continue to enjoy. The books are all standalones and can be read in any order. Each book either changes the timeline of the story or picks up where the original story leaves off, changing some major aspect of the book. This book takes up where Alice’s journey into Wonderland, as an adult, begins.
This book takes place in both Alice’s original home and Wonderland. When she takes pictures of her neighbors, what shows back is pictures of the people of Wonderland and they look horrible. The Mad Hatter doesn’t look mad, the Red Queen looks even more evil, and the Caterpillar is holding up a sign that says “Help Us”. Alice must find her way back to Wonderland, fast.
She goes back and forth between both lands which is new. We get more of a perspective from the characters outside of Wonderland. It was a new take because all of the characters you meet in Alice’s world can be translated to Wonderlandians. Finding the parallels between worlds, it kept me invested in her world as well. However as the stories begin to unfurl, the problems facing both worlds depends on Alice being able to help. The problems that take place in her world focuses on xenophobia and utter bigotry while the problems taking place in Wonderland are nonsensical but still dangerous as the Queen of Hearts is fully taking over Wonderland. I felt like this book was okay, I wish that Alice was more “Alice”, I was hoping for a lot more nonsense. With the included aspect of Alice’s world, it had a lot more seriousness than whimsy. Though we spent a lot of time still in Wonderland, the time spent there wasn’t nearly enough in terms of the ups and downs we’re used to. One thing that was enjoyed was that it kept you wanting more as it switched from place to place because it would leave on a cliff hanger.
If you want to read for the childlike aspects, the games, the nonsense of the characters, then maybe pick this up and see if you like the feel."
"This was a WONDERFUL retelling!!! I know there are a Lot of Alice In Wonderland retellings, so it can be a bit over used, but I really Really liked this one!!! I Greatly enjoyed Adult Alice's adventures, especially the way she was doing her best to balance Wonderland struggles and England struggles!!! I also really Really LOVED several of the new characters, possibly more so than Alice herself!!! Overall, this is a Fantastic retelling, and a Delightful edition to the Twisted Tales series!!!"
"It was a disappointment I had high hopes for it and it wasn’t as good as beauty and the beast "
